Welcome to our beautiful Albuquerque bed and breakfast conveniently located in the Village of Corrales, New Mexico, with its charming shops, vineyards and mountain vistas. Whether you are visiting for fun, adventure or business, our goal is to invite you to “Arrive a Guest….and Leave a Friend”.
Casa de Koshare is built in the southwestern Pueblo Style architecture, with genuine adobe brick walls, flat roof, exposed wood beams (called vigas), decorative corbels and lattias, and archways with rounded corners. Our house is also designed with passive solar features like tromb walls on the south side (windows against the adobe walls to heat the bricks up during the day to keep the house warmer at night).
We are 15 minutes from many Albuquerque attractions, 25 minutes from the Albuquerque airport and just under 1 hour from Santa Fe. Corrales is located next door to the City of Rio Rancho with the new Santa Ana Sports Complex and Lions Gate Movie Studios.
The bed and breakfast takes its name from the medicine men of the Pueblo Indians. The "Koshare" are said to be the Tradition Keepers and the Delight Makers of the tribe. They paint their bodies with black and white stripes and their purpose varies with different Pueblos. Though their purpose varies, their central theme throughout is to teach the traditions of the tribe and to identify inappropriate behavior through comic skits or exaggerated recreations which gives them the reputation of being clowns. We have several beautiful natural attractions on our premises. Our Meditation Courtyard includes a labyrinth walking path for quiet contemplation, whilte the Outdoor Chapel Courtyard is the perfect place to watch the sunset. View the enchanting Sandia Mountains from our beautiful garden patio with its horno (abode bread oven) and chiminea fireplace. Enjoy! Delight in the Sandia Mountains as they turn their magical “watermelon” color at sunset.
Casa de Koshare is the perfect place to unwind from a day of fun, touring or for a special getaway (see our Enchanted Weekend Packages). Please take a moment to look our rooms. Select from our cozy Storyteller Room, the rustic Rusty Gunslinger (which can be used together with the mystical Warrior Room) or the magnificently romantic Kiva Suite, with its wood burning kiva fire place, double sink vanity and large whirlpool tub.
We serve a family style three-course breakfast family style each morning with delights like breakfast burritos, fresh blueberry waffles or orange french toast. We are almost world famous for our banana pancakes! Fresh ground coffee goes on as early as you like. You can view the spectacular sunrise over the mountains while sipping coffee from our great room.
